- FD60 fire-rated doors provide up to 60 minutes of fire protection, helping to slow the spread of fire and smoke
- To maintain certification, intumescent seals must be fitted to the head and both jambs
- For this Deanta FD60 Type 5 specification, the approved alternative using Lorient LP1504 / LP1504DS requires:
- 2 x 15mm x 4mm intumescent seals per edge
- seals fitted 10mm apart
- On a single door, that means:
- 2 seals on the head
- 2 seals on one side
- 2 seals on the other side
- For double doors, the meeting edge must also have matching intumescent installed
- Doors must be installed with certified fire-rated hinges and compatible hardware
- Maintain correct gaps of 2mm to 4mm at the top and sides, with the bottom gap not exceeding 8mm
- Fire doors should be fitted by a competent installer and always in line with the manufacturer’s tested specification
