FAQs
Q1: What does “unfinished” mean?
The door is supplied untreated/unfinished, ready for your chosen paint, stain or lacquer.
Q2: Do unfinished fire doors need sealing?
Yes—seal all faces and edges (including any cut edges after trimming) to maintain durability and rating.
Q3: FD30 vs FD60—what’s the difference?
FD30 offers at least 30 minutes’ resistance; FD60 offers at least 60, when installed as tested.
Q4: Can I get a glazed unfinished fire door?
Yes—look for models with fire-rated glazing (clear or frosted) to brighten hallways.
Q5: How much can I trim?
Only within the manufacturer’s stated allowances. Over-trimming can void certification.
