FD30/FD60 certified, Untreated – ready to paint and seal.

Panelled or glazed options, trim guidance and warranties included.

Prefer to finish on site for a perfect colour match? Our unfinished (untreated) fire doors arrive ready for your chosen stain, lacquer or paint. Choose FD30 or FD60 ratings in panelled or glazed designs to suit apartments, family homes and HMOs. Every door is independently tested and must be installed with fire-rated frames, hinges, closers and intumescent/smoke seals to maintain certification.

Why choose an unfinished fire door

  • Custom finish: Paint, stain or lacquer to match your scheme.

  • Certified safety: FD30/FD60 options for compliance and peace of mind.

  • Style choice: Glazed unfinished fire doors for light; solid panelled for privacy.

  • Built to last: Solid cores, robust edges and manufacturer warranties.

  • Clear specs: Standard UK sizes with stated trimming allowances (always follow each product page).

  • Edge sealing: Finish and seal all faces and edges (including after trimming) as per manufacturer guidance.

Popular ranges

Customer favourites include unfinished lines from XL Joinery, PM Mendes, Deanta and LPD Doors—from clean shaker looks to classic moulded profiles. Not sure whether FD30 or FD60 is right for your project? Tell us the opening size and use-case and we’ll recommend options.

Installation & compatibility

Use a competent installer and pair the door with three fire-rated hinges, a suitable latch/lock, a door closer where required, and the correct intumescent/smoke seals. Keep any on-site trimming within the manufacturer limits and re-seal cut edges immediately.

FAQs

Q1: What does “unfinished” mean?
The door is supplied untreated/unfinished, ready for your chosen paint, stain or lacquer.

Q2: Do unfinished fire doors need sealing?
Yes—seal all faces and edges (including any cut edges after trimming) to maintain durability and rating.

Q3: FD30 vs FD60—what’s the difference?
FD30 offers at least 30 minutes’ resistance; FD60 offers at least 60, when installed as tested.

Q4: Can I get a glazed unfinished fire door?
Yes—look for models with fire-rated glazing (clear or frosted) to brighten hallways.

Q5: How much can I trim?
Only within the manufacturer’s stated allowances. Over-trimming can void certification.

Q6: Are frames and seals included?
Frames and seals are sold separately. Choose FD30/FD60 frames with matching intumescent/smoke seals.

Q7: Do you deliver to my area?
Yes—fast delivery across the North West, Yorkshire and nationwide.
